The Cranmer Room is situated in the northwest corner of Cloister Court. Cloister Court, located at the centre of the site, can be accessed externally through First Court (which has step-free access to the Jesus Lane pedestrian entrance), Chapel Court (which has step-free access to the Chapel Court car park), or Pump Court. Note that there are several steep ramps between Pump Court and Cloister Court. There is no wayfinding signage along the route to the Cranmer room.

Entrance access

Access to the Cranmer room is from Cloister Court and up 15+ stairs. A lift is not available.

The opening from Cloister Court is 75 cm wide and has no door. It offers step-free access to the corridor and is sheltered by a canopy for weather protection. The entrance is not clearly marked.

The stairs to the Cranmer room are situated immediately beyond the entrance and clearly visible from there. These stairs lead to first floor, with over 15 steps. The step height falls within the recommended range of 15 cm to 18 cm, but the step depth does not meet the recommended range of 30 cm to 45 cm and steps lack clear markings. There are handrails on the left side going up, though they are not at the recommended height of 90 cm to 100 cm. While the handrails cover the length of the stairs, they are not easy to grip and do not extend horizontally beyond the first and last steps. Lighting levels on the steps vary. The corridor outside the room is less than 150 cm wide.

To access the room, there are two manual doors. The first door opens towards you (pull), and the second door opens away from you (push). The room has step-free access from the corridor. There is a steep slope of width 78cm to access the room. The doors opening to the room are greater than 75 cm and are not push pad activated.

Signage for the room is available in upper and lower case lettering that is clearly visible on or near the door.
